My Question to You
I need help. (That's not unusual!) But what I need help with is advice on a travel bag. I am going on an international trip (ie Caribbean) and I want to have a bag to take on the plane (carry on) that will also be great for shopping and sight seeing trips. I like it to be organized so I can quickly locate pens, paper, travel itinerary, and my inhaler (in case I need it quickly). In the past I have always used a backpack, but I am looking for something a little different. Oh and of course it should look terrific and stylish! What should I check into getting for toting things? Share your ideas!

I like an over the shoulder bag. That I can feel in my armpit. That way I know that it's still there and no one else has gotten into it.
I haven't ever found a big bag that was very well organized on the inside, though.
I use my computer bag for traveling, which is a great carry-on bag and has lots of little cubbies for pens, earphones, etc. It does hold a lot, but I don't know if it would be what you're looking for. I found it at Target on sale for $13. Another thing I really like is how it slides on to the handle of my suitcase. Very convenient!

If you want an organized purse, I hear the purseket
is the way to go.
The bag I found at an outlet store several years ago would be perfect. JCPenny has a similar one. They are called messenger bags. This is one that might just suit your needs

Now that I'm back. Before I left I bought the shoulder bag recommended by Suzanne (good deal at Penneys) and a little leather travel purse with three zippered pockets and a long strap I could wear multiple ways. I ended up not using the shoulder bag much but it was good for travel. The purse turned out to hold just about the right amount of stuff (passport, sunglasses, reading glasses, jewelry shopping coupons...). Thanks for the suggestions
